In which: staycation

One of the most furious debates available on the internet is the correct usage of the blend ‘staycation’. I’d say that there had been a shift in meaning from ‘going on day trips from your house’ to a new meaning ‘being unable to leave the country when routinely you would, but still wanting a holiday in a place you don’t live’.

I’m using the former meaning here - summer walks along the river in York are delightful- starting and ending at my own home.
