Dazzle

It was great to have the Everton U23 team visit one of my local teams, Guiseley, for a pre-season friendly. 

It was a baking hot afternoon, and I was grateful to be out of the sun in one of the stands. The main action was in the first half, with Everton having a 4-1 lead at the break, and there were no further goals in the second half.

A hat-trick from Lewis Dobbin played an important part, and while only a very small proportion of academy players end up progressing to establish themselves as first team players he seems to be the current likely prospect.

Everton’s new dazzle camouflage inspired kit was on show, and who knows, maybe it helps the players drift around the pitch undetected.
