We've Lost the League Cup

Well, in truth my hopes weren't high. We'd won just one of our last eight league games and been beaten by our fellow finalists St Mirren just a few weeks back.
Still, you can always hope. And in fact we took the lead and for a while had the upper hand. But of course, I knew that we would rue the chances we failed to take to increase our lead, and so it proved to be.
Still, I got over it. We'd had a fine lunch, and arrived back for a curry before heading onto the usual destination for a bit of a low key riotous assembly.
