Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2021 Sunday — Tristan in Cayucos

We drove away from the SoCal house at 7:10 this morning with our oldest great grandson Tristan and both pups, Chloe and Mitzi. We made three stops along the way — first to get a quick fast food breakfast, then in the village of Summerland just south of Santa Barbara, to walk the pups in Lookout Park, and then in Morro Bay to fill the gas tank before our arrival in Cayucos — at 12:10 we arrived at our little Cayucos house, and we were all relieved to get out of the car.

Mid-afternoon Tristan and I played a fun and interesting game of Scrabble. He claims I beat the socks off of him. I won by more than a 100 point lead; I told him it was beginner’s luck. I haven’t played Scrabble since August 2016 when a much younger Tristan taught me how to play the game. He didn’t believe me that it was beginner’s luck.

Later, after enjoying a Mexican Dinner at Martin’s Restaurant, we walked the pups around the block near Hardie Park. Tristan rode his Razor scooter along side of us and in this photo he is slightly ahead of me rolling into the setting sun.

We are thrilled to be in a cooler climate. Cayucos is usually 20 to 30 degrees cooler in the summer than our SoCal house.

That was our Sunday!
