Craighouse Again

The weather brightens as we head down the coast and over to Jura. Mainsail up but it doesn’t give us much, though the tidal push is helpful enough.
Ashore, and a walk along the front to the church and back with an ice cream. Later, back to the Jura Hotel. The SK decides to “make an effort” with her evening wear. As we arrived at the pontoon, four yachties from NI rush to our assistance. I’ve never seen anything so glamorous getting off a dinghy one exclaims. I’ve been cooped up for a year replies the SK, I was almost going to wear my tiara too.
Once indoors, she sits beneath a painting from 1971 of locals who frequented the pub; we both felt quite at home in their company with the ashtrays and Harp Lager. Remarkably, the last of the people included passed away in 2016.
