Our Big Day Out!

So we did it! Went on trains to London, went in taxis rather than walk it the heavy heat, had champagne at the St Pancras Champagne Bar and then on to ROVI, one of Ottolenghi's restaurants. It took us a long time to choose from an extensive menu of small plates, big plates, meat, fish, veg and other unusual dishes.

A big hit was Philippa's drink choice..a glass of Seasonal Drinking Vinegar...cider apple vinegar, infused with strawberries and topped up with soda water. It was very tasty and refreshing. Well chosen, Philippa. She did have wine as well.

So here we are...3 smiling faces. A lovely day!

My 2 trains were not crowded. Most people wore masks. I noticed that station car parks on the way down were still about half full. So it looks like people are not going back to the office in great numbers.
