Blackness
A walk of two halves today.
Our Ramblers walk left Bo'ness this morning when the temperature was very pleasant. The mist had still to burn off and there was barely a breath of wind. We made our way via Carriden towards Blackness Castle and the views along the River Forth were atmospherically grey and with almost perfect reflections.
We stopped for our lunch break near the castle and, as we ate, the sun burned up the mist, the grey surroundings turned into a kaleidoscope of colour and it got rather warm. That was our accompaniment for the return journey to Bo'ness.
A good day out. But a tepid shower and a change of clothes were a necessity upon my return home. A most un-July-like July for us, but all the welcome for that.
