The kindness of neighbours

Another hot, hot day. I ran in the morning whist it was still partially cloudy and on my return past the allotments I met H who gave me a wonderfully fragrant bunch of sweet peas. They also happened to exactly match my running top.

Earlier in the day E (84) had given two walking books that had belonged to his father. Many of the walks are familiar to me and the commentary is infinitely more descriptive and interesting than any of the guides I have. Some of the place names are different (Lynn/Linn Park) and I had look up some of the Scots words ‘a mile and a bittock’, I must try that out on my next walk with the Glasgow Ramblers. The illustrations by the authorTCF Brotchie, are charming, the one here is Dungoyne.

Even more envious of the seasiders; son #1 sent us a photo of two otters scuttling up the beach past Liv and L, he reckons they were closer than two metres.
