Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of these AOG Games! Many competitions are underway but first we’re going to check in with the Pairs Competition taking place at the newly constructed Milkweed Arena. It’s the beginning of the Second Heat and Team Digger Wasp has just left the starting gate. Without hesitation, they quickly move to their first flower selection. In this timed event teams try to gather the most pollen in the fastest time vs their competitors. With numerous flowers placed at varying distances from the finish line, team members must strategize how best to attack this course. Typically the most efficient teams tend to medal but wind and weather are variables out of their control. It’s critical they be able to make adjustments on the fly • Let’s take a closer look at Team Digger Wasp. Wally and Wanda are our only brother and sister pair. They were the first to qualify for these games, representing the State of Maine. You may remember them from last year. That’s right, Wally and Wanda are returning Olympians, winning the Bronze in 2020 • Enjoy today’s competition!
