On the road again

Our two weeks in Montpellier, Cheltenham, were up today. Naively, we had hoped we might have moved in to our new home by today! We are learning fast about how slow conveyancing actually is these days!

We are now in a holiday cottage in Bredon just north of Cheltenham. We are here for a week until our rental house becomes available on 1st August.

Bredon is a familiar landmark on the M5 north of Tewksbury seen across the water meadows of the River Avon. The motorway is busy but far enough away not to be audible today from our cottage. To the east the Birmingham to Bristol railway line is audible as its diesel trains hurtle through the cutting where Bredon station used to be.

My Blip shows one of the early road signs in the village from the days before sat-nav. The AA ( Automobile Association) and the MU ( Motoring Union) merged in 1910!
