Brighton Trunk Murderer woz 'ere

Bit of a hurry today so grabbed a quick blip on the way home from the gym and only after a bit of googling discovered it's history.

I've passed this yard many a time and almost bought a house overlooking it a few years ago. It's called Diplocks Yard. From 1915 to 1975 it was known as Diplocks Barrow Yard and used to hire out barrows or hand trucks. Totters or Rag'n'Bone Men...(think Steptoe and Son without the horse)... would go around the street collecting all manner of things to sell.

It's more sinister claim to fame is that it's believed that it's where The Brighton Trunk Murderer Toni Mancini hired the barrow to transport his victim.

In 1975 is became uneconomical and after laying dormant for a while is now a small farm market.
