Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

2021 — Saturday with Tristan

The three of us walked to the north side of the pier this afternoon. We left our house and went straight to the sand. The Cayucos beach was quite populated for a nonholiday weekend.

Coming back we exited the sand at the pier so we could stop at the ice cream store and enjoy a delicious moment. The three of us sat just outside the ice cream store on a park bench in the the warmth of the sun eating our ice cream. Then we did a little doo-dah-ing (window shopping) thru some stores as we walked back toward the house; just beyond Martin's restaurant, we found a yard sale.

The man who owned the house with the yard sale was very friendly. He invited us thru the garage and into his back yard. There was stuff everywhere. I finally left Tristan and Mr. Fun there and continued my walk back because the pups were at the house; I wanted to get them out to the yard. They were glad to see me.

A while later Tristan and Grandpa Fun arrived at the house. At the yard sale Tristan bought a shoebox of 12 decks of cards for $2.00 and Mr. Fun bought a packet of tennis balls and another of whiffle balls for he and Tristan to take to the tennis courts by Hardie Park here in Cayucos.

The clock was ticking us into the evening. I announced that I was going to make tacos for dinner. Both of my guys cheered as I moved toward the kitchen to start working some magic at the stove and countertop. A while later the three of us sat at the kitchen bar satisfying our hunger pains.

This has been a very good day. We are having a wonderful time with Tristan.
