Playing life by ear.

Queen Anne's lace.

I am curious to know what the little critters are. There were six very busy ones on a single flower. Appparently these plants are edible and since we have so many of them, I'll have to do some research so that we can eat them.

In the extras you can see S helping me out with the grape vines. It was so terribly hot, 35° so I was grateful. It has become his job to remove excess leaves that are preventing the sun from reaching the grapes  It is easy, although he removes too many, in my opinion. Anyway, it enables him to refer to OUR wine when mentioning the few bottleswe manage to produce.

There are so many interesting bugs here. It pleases me that we do not use chemicals on our land except for those accepted in organic produce and very little of that.

We had a refreshing swim in the late afternoon.
One afternoon, almost two years ago to the day, all hot and sweaty, we were just going to jump into the outside pool, when the phone rang. It was our nephew's ex-wife in tears, referring  a very brief message to come quickly. so we did, scruffy, in flip flops and were present at Marco's last breaths.
Swimming is no longer so much fun, as the memory always returns.

Impermanence again.
