Another Open garden for Charity
I made the mistake of arriving a little early. (I had expected to struggle to find it but signposting was good). I thought the owner was going to send me away. He did let me in, though, but he hadn’t any change.
I had the garden to myself. It was stunningly beautiful, dramatic, colourful and impressive. There were lots of seats with tables as they are going to sell tea and cakes. I usually sit and take in the atmosphere.
Here I felt awkward. I did sit but found I wasn’t marvelling at nature.
Maybe it was too much of a good thing. I did spend time deciding how to capture the beautiful vistas and the exceptional balance of colour. I was impressed…….. but not emotionally moved.
My own garden is chaotic but I just love to sit on my bench, watching the goldfinches and other birds sharing it with me.
I’m glad I went. It was a masterpiece, but it won’t be top of my list another year.
Maybe it was because it was humid and sultry again………?
