A post-work trip to the allotment to harvest the shallots and onions. I returned loaded down with sacks and boxes filled, so my task tomorrow will be to spread them out to dry - either in the garage or on the lawn - depending on the weather. There are rather a lot of them so it could take some time.

I was slightly horrified at how prolific the tomato plants have been with all the heat and rain. I spent some time pruning them back but think I may be too late to stop blight getting in. We’ll see!

One success in this rather strange growing year, are the calendula. What a joy they are to see. So grateful.
