Toesuckers

We finally got to Paradise Valley today. A walk up from the bottom to where the road has given way.

The river was crystal clear, with some inviting blue pools had we remembered the swimming trunks.

We stopped for the a paddle and within a few minutes our feet were besieged with these little devils - barbus callensis /I think. These are (afaik) completely wild fish, so I guess it means they have no natural predators here that they were so fearless. Or they really like flaky feet.
