The lines of whitewater running away from the end of the harbour wall mark a sandbank that on a good day produces a wave that can be ridden for more than quarter of a mile.

Today was rather too blustery for that, but with the big dark rainclouds sliding in from the Atlantic and line upon line of swell marching away to the horizon it was still an epic view.
