Actually this is a bit half-hearted. 

Most of the local roads are now lined with poles to try to deter Travellers parking their vehicles and horses. It doesn't work - they park wherever they want. 

The Appleby Horse Fair will be happening in a couple of weeks, an August date given when the June event was cancelled. Oh joy!!
