CD, Crow Disc.....

Another cattle day.
First job was to bring in the in calf heifers next door and do them with fly pour. Same as the cows , to help prevent mastitis. They are due to start calving soon so moved them to a field next to the steading.
Then took the cows that were weaned to the field the heifers came out of .
Next job was to haul out all the weaned calves with the Land rover and trailer .
The bullocks went to a field next door, the heifers went to one of the hill fields. It’s about a 8 mile round trip. By tea time I had all 8 loads done, then spent about another hour and a half washing out the trailer !
Took the dogs a walk tonight to see how much barley the crows have demolished . The Estate shooting team have been popping away at them and they have lots of these hi tech scarecrows in the field but they have still made a right mess. I reckon they have ruined over an acres worth in the last two days. As if it isn’t hard enough growing the stuff with the weather to contend with !
