Going, going……GONE!

Oh happy day!!

267 days not that I’ve been counting! since my accident, Nicolas Cage and I have finally parted ways.

My consultant was still happy with the healing, so agreed it was ok to remove the frame.

In an unprecedented move, he’s given me a fancy pneumatic boot; most frame patients are usually put in a cast for 6 weeks.

Again, I received praise for how well I’ve cared for things and for how well I’ve done with my walking. I feel like I’ve to learn all over again now though, but I don’t care….I’m free!

My instructions are feet up tonight and to leave the dressings undisturbed for the next week. Absolutely no weight bearing without my boot on and they will review me again next Friday.

I can’t begin to explain the relief (& joy) I feel, that it’s finally off and in just a few more weeks, I can start getting back to normal as I start the next chapter in my life as a married woman :-)
