The dropped stitch

The first cruise ship to come to Orkney since the onset of the Covid 19 pandemic arrived in Kirkwall today.
The 'Anthem of the Seas' has a capacity for over 4,000 but arrived with just over 1,000 passengers. They were taken on 'bubble tours' by bus around the island.

The photo shows just how massive this ship is - the small red and white vessel on the left is the Pentalina - 70.6m long. In comparison, the 'Anthem of the Seas' is a little over 347m.

A pleasant morning spent catching up with blipper TopsyTurvy.
Working in Deerness this evening and I saw the cruise ship sail off into the mist. I think its visit will have been a talking point among many in these islands today.
