Monday: Funland
It was K.'s mum's 83rd birthday today and what she really wanted to do was go to Southport where she was born and grew up, so that's what we did.
The weather was lovely, bright and sunny with a slight chill in the air. K.'s brother also drove down from the Lake District to join us. We spent a lot of time in the arcades where £1 gave us over an hour of enjoyment on the 2p slot machines. We then went and had lunch in the Westminster Tea Rooms, a lovely olde worlde place where you feel like you have stepped back to the 1940s. A walk along the pier where we had K.'s mum doing a little dance to some Motown and a stroll through along the seafront was next.
In the evening we did her other favourite thing, which was to go out to the local Carvery for a roast dinner.......all in all, a lovely day.
