Lunchtime 10k Cancelled!
I had planned to go on my lunchtime 10k but the snow, rain and wind combined with no showers at the coalface have put paid to that idea. Might go out for a wee teatime 10k. I was up early doing Body Step class this morning so if I don't manage to fit in a run then I won't get all neurotic about not fitting in any exercise. Monday is going to stay as a rest day for me now that I am in a good routine and I also am a wee bit scared of the Stupendous one who isn't best pleased when one of the gang does not take a day off from exercising.
I have been offered the opportunity of an entry into the Edinburgh Marathon and I have to admit that I am sorely tempted. I have been thinking about it all day long. I have checked the course but I don't think that city type marathons are really for me. I have my heart set on my first one being the Windermere marathon. I much prefer the romanticism of a rural location and what could be more beautiful than running round Windermere. There is a marathon at Loch Ness but this isn't a circular race. You get bussed out of Inverness to 26.2 miles away and run back. Seems like a bit of a palaver to me. My other option is the Moray marathon but it isn't really that scenic. I have run a number of the sections while up on holiday in Hopeman and it is quite boring countryside inland from the sea. Definitely think that the Windermere race is the one for me.
