The Cabbage Tree…

Such an unromantic name for a tree. It is endemic to New Zealand and it’s botanical name is Cordyline australis. It’s Maori name is “ti kouka”. Another name is Cabbage-Palm. I’ve seen them growing in the UK, a sight that made me quite homesick at the time. We had two growing next door. They were cut down but we still have little seedlings growing all over our garden. We gift the seedlings to family and friends. A gorgeous dawn sky this morning and it has been partly cloudy all day.
