The Big Puddle

If you are a visitor to my journal you will know that The Big Puddle often figures in my journeys to and from work on the bike, particularly at this end of the year when we have had much precipitation, snow, rain or otherwise. After the last blast of winter the Council blocked off the road and put up cones (they've left one!) and various signage and I assumed they were going to sort it. Not so, they dug a trench to the left of the puddle, presumably to drain it, forgot to remove their road closed signs and here we are four weeks on.

I must admit I shall be sorry if The Big Puddle ever completely goes because it is particularly good fun on my way home when I come down the hill back left, take the corner and pedal like billy-o to get up enough speed to whizz through the puddle with my legs in the air. It's not as much fun first thing in the morning when there is no way I can pedal hard enough to get through it and if I try to go along the edge of it THERE IS NOW A WATER FILLED TRENCH IN THE WAY!

I am glad that the JCB driver patiently waited till I had got round and clear this morning before he drove through!

Out for dinner with the girlies tonight so apologies for no commenting!
