Pairs Pollinating
This is always a favorite event and I'm thrilled to be able to bring it to you live from the New Jersey AOG Arena today! As I was hanging out at Mountain Mint Stadium, interviewing some of the members of Team Bee and Team Digger Wasp, I spotted them! They glided effortlessly into the Stadium and executed a perfect landing on the mint, never breaking contact. After Gertie gathered some pollen, Gabe gently lifted off and they moved to the next pollen pot. It was breathtaking, to say the least to see Gertie and Gabe Gold-marked Thread-waisted Wasp take the Gold in this event. The course took them about 20 minutes to complete, during which time they never waivered in their perfect form and excellent teamwork.
After the left the Podium with their Gold Medals, Gertie shyly shared with me that she is "with egg". Yes, you read it here first! Gertie and Gabe are expecting a brood of Olympic Champion wasplings next year.
In other AOG news, the members of Team Hummie are having a hard time pulling their act together. They are constantly bickering and the tension between Atilla-the-Hummie and P-Hummie is so thick you could cut it with a pair of garden shears. And the language! It's beyond the pale. Unfortunately for them, I am fluent in Hummie so I heard all the little f-bombs that were being hurled between them.
The Great Golden DIggers, having handily beat all comers in the tunnel-digging competition are now settling in to enjoy some of the pollinating events. Team Bumble Bee (seen here in the background) are still hot contenders in many of the pollinating events, so stay tuned.
See a shot in Extra of me interviewing several members of Team Bumble Bee and Team Great Golden Digger. It was super breezy so I had to lend a steadying hand to the stadium.
Your reporter is feeling infinitely better today and now thinking that it was sinuses, not a cold. Whatever. I'm feeling better and that's all I care about. That and chocolate. Today's being dark with chips of pistachio.
Today's events can be seen HERE - be sure to check back later for the full day's event coverage. Tomorrow's tag is #aog2112
