Steve... Oi! Scuba Steve...

... 'You can stop hiding now. I've nearly finished the holes up top, come and see'.

This was the prettiest image I had from today, apart from lovely bees. I suspect this is a dock beetle (?). It's chewing the bit of the garden we left wild, so it's welcome to what it can find. 
I didn't see the one hiding underneath until it was on the screen. 
At a previous house we had some building work done, and it was obvious to us that one of the workers was not pulling his weight; he used to bunk off regularly, apparently to go diving. We overheard his colleagues referring to him as 'Scuba Steve', which has always tickled us, even many years later. (We have probably all known a Scuba Steve?).
