Life of a bubble maker

Jamming at the wake

Not the best day today as it was dad cremation. Took the dogs for a walk on the golf course first thing and then back to get changed and go out. We left them in the house not knowing what we would come back to. Mum was fantastic through the ceremony, which she had put together. There was a sunflower on the coffin from the garden as dad thought last year they were daisies instead of sunflowers. Mum did a bit about dads’ life and we sang his favourite hymn. The Alcester Male Voice Choir, which he was a member of, came and sang his favourite song he did with them, which was the Rose. The Cheswick Ukulele Band, which he played with, came and played his favourite song, Bob Dylon Blowing in the wind. It was the last song he was practicing before he died. We all went back to our local pub for some drinks and nibbles. J went to collect the dogs and found them sitting in the bay window of the lounge looking out. The Uke band played a few more songs that everyone joined in on, which was nice. After people had left we had lunch with a few of mums WI friends and came back for a quiet night and to watch the final of Bake Off the Professionals.
