Wool Away time ....
The lorry in to collect the wool clip this morning. Had all 64 sheets loaded and away by 9.30am.
Once he was gone , we went through the 50 cows that were in the shed being weaned. They all got a dose of fly repellent pour on and re tagged any that were missing ear tags.
Then ran them out to the field they will calve in.
Next job after a quick lunch was to head off next door with Littlemiss as my co pilot to bale silage. Kevin on carting and wee brother on wrapping.
It got very dark and threatening but only some brief heavy spots of rain.
After tea , nipped down to see if the combine had started cutting winter barley in a field I’m getting the straw from. He was just hitching the header onto the combine at 7 pm so no point trying to bale tonight. Fingers crossed it stays dry overnight and tomorrow . We shall see.
