Baling winter barley straw....
A busy one today.
Once I’d been round and checked all the usual cattle, tagged the 3 calves that had been born in the shed when we weaned the cows. Ran them and their mothers out to a fresh field . Then Kev gave me a hand to separate the weaned calves into 2 different sheds , blks in one, heifers in another.
A quick early lunch then headed off to bale winter barley straw on a next door farm. Not the biggest crop and the straw a bit raw , but the forecast isn’t encouraging, so it’s getting baled.
Kev on carting bales home and by 10 pm I had everything baled up. The only downside to the day was the combine cut the fields across the tramlines, and it was as rough as F .By tonight I was like John Wayne !
