Fix It
Decayed grandeur at Weston Super Mare.
It was blowing a gale when I took this shot, which partially explains the lack of any people enjoying the promenade and beach, and the small sea water paddling pool on the right. About an hour before it had been pouring with rain and the forecast reckoned that there was every chance of a torrential downpour at fairly short notice.
Just standing here to take the shot, I was conscious that my left hand side was being sand blasted by the combined effect of wind and sand. In the meantime its low tide at Weston. So what sea there is, is some way away in the distance. Don't bother trying to walk to it though, not only is it a long way, but its also fraught with peril as the quicksands (or sinking mud) of Weston are not to be trifled with. Ah, the joys of a traditional beach holiday here in the West Country.
