Padevi, Frances Macia

Another good day on our staycation, starting with coffee out and a FaceTime call with Ann C and Alistair in Scotland. We needed to buy external discs for our Macs, so ordered those in the shop and they should be available on Monday.  Wandered along Diagonal over Frances Macià and down Enrique Granados and stayed to look for  lunch stop.  Found a place that ticked all the right boxes - in the shade, distanced tables, no smokers nearby, nice menu, fairly traditional and Spanish lunch time set menu. Sat down and then our first choice of starter wasn't available neither was the 2nd. Mmm, off again and then sat down at Piolo, good choice, open kitchen all day and nice menu. Wandered again, down and into El Raval and the interesting and characterful Joaquim Costa Street and bought ourselves two little pottery soap dishes in a really interesting shop.  Souvenirs let's call them!  Walked half way home, that was 9 hours from when we left the house, and took a taxi the rest of the way. A nice day, felt more like a Saturday than a Friday. 14,000 steps.

My blip is off the entranceway to the classic shoe shop Padevi on Frances Macià. It's been there since 1985 but sadly didn't survive the last 18 months.  A delicatessen is going to take its place and work is underway. I imagine they'll keep this doorway, but am blipping it just in case.
