Sea otters

Although I'm not a wildlife photographer (clearly - see previous unidentifiable seal picture), I'm pretty pleased that this one came out.

We kayaked out into Elkhorn Slough, an estuary reserve just down the coast from us. You're supposed to keep 100ft away from the wildlife. But the seals and otters don't always know that. In fact, the introduction includes instructions about what to do if an otter tries to get on your boat. (Push. It. Off.)

These didn't try anything fancy. Just looked up to check us out, then went back to cracking shells. Very cute.
