Winter in August

Gales blowing today, rain in the morning, and a sunny afternoon and evening.

Weekend off, and up early.  Headed into Lerwick in the morning for shopping.  Not been in town much lately, and fairly noticed the neglect in buildings, that I never noticed when there every day.  Met friend Julie for walkies this afternoon.  I'm helping out in the Cornerstone this evening.

If it hadn't been for light mornings and light evenings, a warm wind, and flowers, I would have thought it was January today.  The poor summer just seems to keep on giving.  Those poor flowers have been battered, and losing their vibrant colours and smells.  Mam's garden looking a tad battered today.  Taken at Aith, Cunningsburgh.
