Sheffield by the seaside
The annual 'Sheffield by the seaside' event, in the Peace Gardens in town, is reinstated this year after its Covid-imposed absence last year. In this landlocked city, about as far from the sea as you can get in England, it's definitely a thing.
Deckchairs, sandpits, booths selling appropriate types of junk food - and yes, crazy golf. But the kids love the fountains best.
I was in town again to take a final few sculpture photos for ArtUK. And also trying to take my mind off all the reports of the fires raging out of control in Greece. I don't think any of the current fires are close to where Jack, Marianna and Frieda are, with M's parents; they're on the coast at Melissi, a little way west of Corinth. But there have been fires around Patras, which is not so very far away. Everyone is hoping that the winds will die down. We keep in touch, on WhatsApp. I know that Marianna and her family are devastated about the destruction, some of which is close to where they come from (Athens).
