A Leaf To Rest On
A lone branch - looks like from a willow - floating by after yesterday's storm, the lake level replenished a little. I decided to try a minimalistic shot, just the shape formed by the twig and its reflection in calm water. I did see the fly resting on the leaf when I zoomed in to focus. I thought it an interesting touch.
Although dehaze could bring out more detail of the branch underwater, I went for a high key approach and kept the detail subtle. I dare say I should have even toned down the darker branch. But I couldn't settle on the white balance though, going alternately cool and warm.
Funnily, I see a smiley fish face in the shape of the branch, not that it helps in any way.
