Iceland day 2 - Black Guillemot in flight

We checked out of the hotel and drove to the nearby Grábrók crater for our first stop. Then we went to Illugastradir at the coast, for our first crack at bird photography, particularly to practice with birds in flight. As the shot you're looking at was my first attempt at that, I'm pleased with how that went. I also managed to capture a common tern in flight and later that same bird was feeding its young at the beach (extra).

The journey continued with a visit at Hvitserkur and of course we had a waterfall on the menu: the Kolufossar (extra). At the end of the day, we checked in at the Mikligarður Hotel
