Lost For Words
Thanks to spell check, all the words in that sign are spelt correctly. It is even grammatically correct, so must have passed that filter as well. Regrettably there is no “reality check” function in MS Word to ensure your sentence actually makes sense. Of course, I may be missing the point - perhaps this is an advisory notice to two members of staff, one a meat eater and the other a vegan, warning them not to indulge in any french kissing.
But I sense the more mundane truth is that the person who typed it cannot spell “tongs”. A sad indictment of the British educational system.
Another musical day today as I attempted - with Stuart’s help - to get to grips with those numbers that eluded me during Friday’s band rehearsal. After an hour and a bit I was ok on “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”, could stumble through “Satisfaction” and had worked out where I was going wrong in “Purple Rain”. Unfortunately, “Love Potion No.9” remains a mystery. With both of us feeling rather jaded by then, we called a halt to proceedings and went for a restorative coffee. I tried again this afternoon, playing along to YouTube videos - but more practice will definitely be required.
Luckily, next band rehearsal is not until Friday and I don’t have any other time consuming activities planned for the intervening period, apart from a couple of gym visits and the weekly shop. In the interests of domestic harmony, I shall be using headphones when Mrs C is in - apparently, even the greatest tunes can lose some of their enjoyment when all you can hear is the bass line. And you’ve already heard it 22 times that day, so far…
