Stars of Sadness

This display of stars is outside the Texas Baptist Childrens' Home in Round Rock. Each star represents a documented victim of child abuse in Williamson County in the past year. Each black star represents a child who died as a result of child abuse. The Texas Baptist Childrens' Home, among other things, provides temporary placement for abused children who have been removed from their home, either permanently or temporarily. Several other child advocacy groups have their offices near the TBCH.

In a county of around 370,000 souls, the number of stars - and moreso the abused children they represent - is nothing short of reprehensible.
