Flip the lid

As working days go, that was a pretty good one.

I’ve three key tasks to accomplish before breaking for a much-needed holiday next Thursday, and the first of those was broadly completed today with promise being shown on the other two. The recent change of role, acceptance of new responsibilities and general grafting has finally been recognised and acknowledged, which has given me a little boost.

The wee ones have had a great day too! Their Grandpa enrolled them in a sailing course at their club and today was the second day of three in what sounds like a very Swallows and Amazons-esque type existence. They’ve been paddle boarding, sailing and jumping in the lake from rocks and generally having a good time. Two very tired and water logged, young souls were deposited with me last night.

I realised after the release of yesterday, how very exhausted I am too. The imminent prospect of a string of 11 consecutive days without having to flip the lid on the work laptop is a very attractive one.

Will be nice to get some blips that aren’t clearly emergency ones!
