And now for something completely different ....

After the warm tones of yesterday's blip today's could not be more different. The weather continues to be a mixture of sleet, hail and occasional dry spells but there is no snow lying on the ground.

However, it is a different story if you only go about 6 or 7 miles inland into the Borders. There is plenty of snow lying there. I had to go to Duns to pick up my lawnmower which was being serviced and this was what I encountered on the way over the Lammermuir Hills. Fortunately the roads were clear but the surrounding countryside was covered in snow. Still it did give me the opportunitiy to photograph some more of my favourite subject - winter trees
