Another one bites the dust....

Although by tonight there wasn’t much dust, back to mud !
A morning spent spreading slurry while waiting to see if things would dry up or not. By lunch time it was looking hopeful but still not dry enough to combine barley so dropped off the baler, hitched up the mower and went and cut another field of grass. There was a fair wind and the sun came out.
Had it finished by 5 pm so went back to the slurry. Then about half 6 the heavens opened again . Bugger. Mind you there were a few nice rainbows !
Tonight had to go and bring in a cow and a calf born yesterday that hadn’t had much of a suck. Mummy was a wee bit over protective and had a wee chase at Gareth ! While he was distracting her I managed to grab the calf over the petrol tank of my quad bike and took off with the cow in hot pursuit with Gareth bringing up the rear . Eventually got her down to the farm and separated from the calf. Tubed it with some powdered milk and shut them both in a pen. If it is still alive in the morning will need to figure out how to milk out the cow and feed the calf without getting killed. The joys .
