My Current Inner Battle

Save the grass or save on the water bill.

Even though I have lived in Florida for 20 years, I still think like a Massachusetts girl. The arrival of spring has me thinking about gardening and yard work. Or maybe it's because my Mom will be here on Tuesday and she has such a meticulous yard ... she will not be impressed with mine, that's for sure.

Tomorrow my daughter is flying by herself for the first time. She will be heading North to spend her birthday with my Mom. This is the first time in 17 years I will not see her on birthday. It makes me sad. I know she'll have a great time though - she will be with her grandparents, aunt, uncle, and cousins. It's the biggest celebration she's had in years. And we'll celebrate when she returns (with my Mom) next week.

The upside - the boy and I will get to spend some quality time together.
