Mare's Tail

Deansgrange Cemetery has been overrun by the invasive Mare’s Tail weed, also called Horsetail weed. It is quite shocking to see the extent to which it has taken over. I went to the cemetery with Maeve and her mother to visit their family grave. It like many of the other graves was covered with the weed. It is a very invasive, deep-rooted perennial weed that quickly spreads to produce dense areas of growth. Maeve’s mother got stuck in removing the invader. She forgets that she is 90. But she wanted her mother and father's grave cleared and cleared it was. We gave moral support.
