Bird Bath Construction 101

Last year, inspired by the solar water fountain my husband had bought for our pond but was way too small, I channelled my inner Charlie Dimmock and created a bird bath out of a large plastic drip tray, some pebbles and a rubber duck.

On Wednesday, I’m going to see a friend who’s recently had her garden re-done, replacing all the lawn with resin bound gravel but leaving planting borders round the edges. A good, low-maintenance solution for a small garden but perhaps not overly wildlife-friendly so I’ve got her the bits to make a similar water feature, which can either sit on the ground or on an upturned pot.

She’ll have to provide her own rubber duck but it has to be better than the gnome I bought her last time!
