Prevention is better than cure

Ear infections such as Otitis Media (a common ear infection which can be easily cured in its early stages by a course of antibiotics) are a major cause of acquired hearing loss in the developing world.

IMPACT Cambodia stage ENT screening clinics and 'camps' to reach people who are least able to access medical attention.

Here the IMPACT team are screening children from an Orphanage in Phnom Penh. 90 children have been screened, three are suffering from chronic otitis media and are being referred for surgery and further treatment.
