Lots of marigolds

Today I did some work on the allotment, mainly cutting back clematis and wayward blackberry shoots. Rather depressing as  many things have not grown as well as last year…tomatoes are a disaster, brassicas have mostly been eaten, courgettes and cucumbers less prolific than usual.
However the self seeded Californian poppies and marigolds are looking good so I picked some and brought them home.
