Down in the gorge

A hike today to check off a location on our hiking list. Tallulah Gorge is about an hour from where we are staying so today we made the trip and the hike down to the bottom...a 1000 foot elevation drop. Yes, we had to climb back up! There were close to 1000 stairs to get to the bottom and back up the opposite side. To cross the river we strolled across a suspension bridge 80 feet above on of the five waterfalls/cascades.

My phone said we walked over 7300 steps and about 2.7 miles. It was worth it to enjoy all the amazing beauty of the natural world.



The prompt for today was leaving the frame so I thought this one of the river disappearing around the bend would do.
