Into Lockdown 4 ...

..... ..... ..... NZ goes, from midnight tonight. A week for Greater Auckland & Coromandel, 3 days for the rest of us. A Covid-19 community case has been found in AKL, which they’re assuming is Delta. The Govt’s call has always been to ‘Go hard & Go early’ and this is being repeated.
I guess we’ll find out more as it plays out. It’s been more a matter of when, not if. So it’s not a surprise.

It’s awful news coming out of Afghanistan. I’ve often thought that the US was repeating history there, after what happened in Vietnam, and it’s looking very worrying there at present, especially for women & girls. I was somewhat heartened today listening to a woman from UNICEF, speaking from Kabul, and am hoping that her hopeful tone is reality.
