Grey Heron

The young one was waiting at the secluded clearing and so were the cygnets and one of the adult swans! The young one was making no attempt to hide from the swans who clearly were aware she was there. I threw the bird food I had taken to the far end of the clearing and the cygnets all went after it. I then tried to throw the pieces of fish deep into the young one's end of the clearing, as far away from the adult swan as possible. The young one was not the slightest bit intimidated and kept wandering towards me and the adult swan after each piece of fish!  The swan was now hissing at one of us, but doing little else. 

The young one got all her fish today as the swans must have scared off the magpie!
